The Military was almost OUT OF A JOB! Base closures commenced almost immediately. Operation Desert Shield (1990) and Operation Desert Storm (1991) were timed to save the service from near extinction. After those campaigns were successfully completed, Congress passed news laws allowing the US Military to conduct Law Enforcement duties.
Today the US Mililtary and Law Enforcement WORK TOGETHER.
On television, ever notice how you can't tell the difference from an armored Kevlor wearing Soldier and Law Enforcement (Sheriff/Police/FBI/DEA/ATF/Border Patrol/Customs/Highway Patrol/Home Land Security/etc.)? That's because they all now:
1. Wear the same uniforms
2. Use the same vehicle/helicopters/armored cars
3. Use the same weapons
4. Do the same work
Only the "title' is different (Sheriff, Police, Marine, Soldier, FBI, etc).
This was the result of the end of the cold war.
Kennedy responded to the events of the Cold War very rapidly by issuing a number of statements and initiating contact with a number of other countries.
The Cold War. The two superpowers that were in the world as of 1945, Soviet and the United States, were governed by two different styles of government, Communism and Democracy. The Soviets, wanting more countries to trade with (its normal trade being to democratic countries, who boycotted all trade with the U.S.S.R), wanted the government type of Communism to spread into other countries that were either democratic or republics. Countries that were democratic, particularly the United States, wanted to stop this. The Soviets began funding and arming Communist, forces in different countries. these led to the reign of Fidel Castro in Cuba, the Vietnam War, Korean War, and a Communist government in China, among others.
The occupation and resources of some countries by the Soviet Union contributed to the development of the Cold War. This is because they did not know what weapons the countries were making.
7 countries
Both Russia and the United States agreed to have less nuclear weapons in their countries after the cold war. This put both countries at ease.
The cold war was about how two countries fought each other.
They threatened each other with Nuclear War.
They found out that other producing countries such as india and other countries sold cheaper cotton.
No. It was called the cold war because there was no overt action on either side.
Canada and Caribbean reacted by supporting Britain
they react so aggressively and almost lead to destructive war
They found out other producing countries from which they would have imported raw cotton.
Do you mean countries if so USA Russia It wasn't an actual war it was both countries being afraid of each other
Cold War means people (countries/nations) were NOT shooting at each other; no one was dying. They just looked at each other and were looking for an excuse to fight each other.
The main countries involved in the Cold War were the US and the USSR.
The CIA created an airline known as Air America to support operations of the Cold War.
The United States and the Soviet Union were the two countries on opposite sides during the Cold War. The Cold War ended in 1991.
