According to researchers, a long long time back, life started in hot ancient oceans where complex chemical reactions created the very first organic compounds, probably as a byproduct of lightning strikes.

These organic compounds took part in mysterious chemical reactions that ultimately gave rise to the DNA, the basic building blocks of life. The first organisms were very simple life forms which eventually evolved by the laws of evolution as defined by Sir Charles Darwin, and over millions of years gave rise to complex multi cellular organisms like trees, fishes, dogs, tigers, apes, and human beings.
