One thing the Allies did to mislead them was to come up with a fake title and invation. The real D-day was Operation: Overlord in Normandy. the allies used a lot of code names and disquises for this great Invasion.

ANS 2 The allies went to a lot of trouble to make a fake army in Norfolk (nearer to Calais. ) This army had thousands of cardboard and rubber tanks, trucks and tents. Gen George Patton also very visibly visited and drove around the area to give the impression this was his army that would soon invade over the Strait of Calais.
