A classical is something considered to be the best of its kind.
Dark age is the age in which an empire or a country is in bad times. Eg: Dark ages of Greece. Classical age is the age in which an empire or a country is in good times and there are lots of improvements in dance ,folklore, literature, etc. Eg: The gupta age in India.
The classical age for China was from 500 BC to 500 AD. It began with Confucius and ended around the time that the religion of Buddhism began.
