How did the emancipation proclamation give union army more motivation?

Abraham Lincol was a correspondent friend of Karl Marx, who was employed as a pro-union propagandist by Horace Greeley. Karl Marx, and the socialist who began after the revolutions in 1848 and the publications of Das Kapital and the Kommunist Manifesto were against slavery. Ironically the Christain sentiments of the abolitionist of Wilberforce and his friend Prime Minster also aided in the Europeans agreeing to the economic hardships of having cotton supplies curtailed and textile factories languishing in such centers as Birmingham. This support of abolition caused the idea of British navy action to fight the union navy and open the cotton supply unpopular. The Mancipation proclamation then unsetteld British resolve to break the blockade and become an ally of the Confederacy and also provided a potentail insurrection threat to Southern planters such as the type Nate Turner, John Brown and Tuisant Le Overture inspired. The union slave states did nor emancipate their slaves unttil after the war.

President Abraham Lincoln came up with the idea of the Emancipation Proclamation. He thought that if the slaves were freed, it would hurt the Confederate war effort because they wouldn't have the slaves working in the fields. This would have an economic impact on the south. They wouldn't be able to see as much profit from their cotton and tobacco crops, and thereby would have a harder time support the Confederate troops. At first the proclamation only freed slaves in the states that were opposing the union. The Union didn't want to anger the border states of Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri. These four states fought on the side of the Union, but still kept slaves. However, after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, one of the main thrusts of the war became the abolishment of slavery. Emotions were heightened on both sides after the proclamation was issued January 1, 1863. The north's resolve to win the war was reinforced by the idea of ending slavery. The proclamation also allowed African Americans to join the Union army. Those who wanted to be free could now fight to help others be free. Almost 200,000 African Americans served in the Union army by the time the war ended in April, 1965.
