How did the first guns change everything?

This is a MUCH longer answer than we can do on Wikianswers. Guns made the common soldier on foot a match for a knight on horseback. The question of personal physical strength was no longer as important as it once was. Soldiers no longer needed years of training with the bow. A single man was no longer at the mercy of a group of criminals. Hunters could kill animals larger and more dangerous with less hazard to themselves. An 80 lb woman could defend herself from a 250 lb Man. a person can kill another person in less than a second. no more shooting rocks at Goliath. you can shoot him with a bullet and he will be down.
Guns have made Wars easier. But the misuse of guns led to Bad crimes. Bad crimes existed LONG before guns did.

Range (distance). Instead of fighting hand to hand (swords, knives, spears, axes, and mace); they were able to destroy their enemies at a longer distance. Bows did the same, but guns EXTENDED that distance even more...and using less skill and strength.

They changed the way people fought battles. For centuries weapons had remained the same for the most part and war was fought the same ways. The use of the gun meant that the knights armor no longer protected him, the castle walls could be knocked down with a cannonball, and the invention of the pistol meant that a weapon could be hidden on a person. Assignation attempts on people in power could be carried out with greater ease and the balance of power changed overnight. In later wars the improvement of the gun caused greater deaths and wounds. The civil war is a perfect example of this happening.
