The light bulb contributed to longer working hours and more productivity. It also led to more stress from working long hours.
Well, the light bulb didn't really have that much to do with "productivity", per SE.( yes it did, the workers could see so they could be more efficient.) What the light bulb did was free mankind from being a slave to darkness. It's hard to imagine how life all over the world was before the invention of the light bulb (and electricity, and copper wire, and all the other stuff that goes into illumination). Even with candles, most people everywhere went to bed when it got dark. There was no light outside except for moonlight. None. It was REALLY, REALLY dark out. The invention of the light bulb allowed mankind to do stuff after the sun went down, like walk around downtown, stay up after dark to read, and so on. Imagine - a big city like New York or London or Des Moines, COMPLETELY deserted after dark except for muggers, thieves and bad guys. That's how it was, all over the world, until the light bulb. Yeah, some cities had gas lights, but they were poor imitations, and didn't really help all that much. And they didn't come in until just a few dozen years before electricity anyway.
The light bulb brought LIGHT to human society. It's importance can not be over-stated.
No. Thomas Jefferson did not contribute to the development of the light bulb. The light bulb has a number of inventors producing specific technologies that ended up being part of the light bulb including Humphrey Davy and Thomas Edison, who perfected it, and many others.
Some of the most important inventions in U.S. history include the light bulb, the telephone, and the internet. The light bulb revolutionized daily life and industry by extending productive hours into the night, while the telephone transformed communication, making it instantaneous and more accessible. The internet has fundamentally altered how people connect, share information, and conduct business, driving globalization and innovation. Each of these inventions has had a profound impact on society, economy, and culture, shaping modern America.
Benjamin Franklin did not invent the light bulb.
Thomas Edison invented the first light bulb that was available for commercial use in 1879. The light bulb was first used in Menlo Park.
The person who invented the light bulb was Nikola Tesla look him up.
in 1809 first light bulb was invented by humphry davy

Since Thomas Edison produced the first practical light bulb in 1879, many changes in bulbs have taken place. Light bulbs have also had a dramatic impact on modern life and society. Why, just imagine, we'd be watching TV by kerosene lantern. See the link below for a history of the light bulb.
The brightness of a light bulb is influenced by factors such as the amount of electrical current flowing through it, the type and efficiency of the filament or LED inside, and the voltage applied to the bulb.

Thomas Edison invented his version of the light bulb in 1879. He added a special filament and made it able to be utilized by the public.
well think about it... would you like to still be using gas lamps or candles. the light bulb has become a very integral part of our society
Edison didn't invent the light bulb he bought the patent and then work on filaments and encased it in a vacum in glass. Here is a decent history of the light bulb: http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/bllight2.htm
The main problem with Thomas Edison inventing the light bulb is that he did not have enough filament, so he used a different material to replace it.
