Nubia was heavily influenced by Egypt. This influence is particularly apparent in Nubian religious practices and burial traditions. But even though the Nubians adopted Egyptian ways, they didn't abandon their cultural identity. In many of these religious and funeral practices, the Nubians blended Egyptian customs with their own traditions but of course the nile continued to be a mayor transportation fact between them.

How did the people of Nubia and Egypt benefit from the geography?

By far the most valuable geographic feature of Egypt and Nubia was the Nile River. Despite the fact that these countries were located in the Sahara Desert, which is extremely hot and receives nearly no rainfall, the Nile River provided freshwater to the regions year round. Further, it flooded its banks once a year, not only watering crops but fertilizing them with nutritious sediments brought from upstream. Besides the fact that the Nile River supported farming in Egypt and Nubia, people traveled up and down the river in boats, allowing goods and people to easily cover long distances.

How is nubia different from Egypt?

No Kush and Nubia are not exactly the same though some people write as though they were. Nubia is the geographical area south of Egypt (1st cataract / Aswan area) Kush was a mighty kingdom which arose there in very ancient times (sometimes people say Ancient Nubia instead of 'the Kingdom of Kush'). Nubia usually means mediaeval Nubia - that is a civilization which came up much later on in roughly the same area Kush
