Typically several large grey cabinets filling a frigidly airconditioned room. On some machines you might see some red glowing tube filaments, but this was rare as the tubes were usually inside the cabinets to better control their cooling. The operator's panel was usually covered in hundreds of flickering orange neon lamps to show the state of the machine. Most of the cabinets, usually at least a dozen, were magnetic tape drives. Sometimes there would be a few pieces of punch card unit record equipment (e.g. sorter, keypunch, collator, interpreter, reproducing punch) to help the operator in card deck handling, but these were not part of the computer.

you look at the first letter of the words you have and go by the alphabet . example your words are art music computer. the alpabetic order is art computer and finally music . that is how you put things in alphabetic order if all of the first letters are the same then you look at the second letter, you look at it like the alphabet and go by that. hopefully this helped you.
