Well, I'm researching Nicaragua for school and from what I can see, Nicaragua's main enemy is the USA, although whether you could really call them enemies is debatable, but there are definitely huge tensions there. Daniel Ortega did make a pact with Iran and Venezuela and their allies, agreeing for projects in Nicaragua to go ahead, so one would presume that the nations are not against one another. Also, Nicaragua has, in recent years, received aid from Russia, so I think they probably have some sort of agreement. If anyone could expand on these points then that would probably make them more helpful!

I think you mean "moral diplomacy" and it encouraged non-democratic and oppressive governments to become more democratic, it also condemned imperialism.
There was a book written in the late 1950s called The Ugly American by Eugene Burdick and William Lederer. I think it still fits today.
