I don't know by train but i can tell you that by bus it cost you 19 Euros from Lagos (one of the Algarve cities) to Lisbon. This bus also pass in Faro. Since Lagos is a terminal stop its more expensive to go from Lagos to Lisbon, than from Faro to Lisbon, so i am sure the ticket its less than 19 Euros in this case. I remind you that they made 50% reduction to children till 12 years old, and they also do a good reduction if you are a holder of the European Youth Card. The trip from Lagos - Lisbon takes 4 hours and the buses are very good with air con and W.C. etc ...
It will take about 2 hrs. 40 min. to drive the 277 kms.
