The war on drugs was started to oppress ethnic minorities, among other reasons. Those who worked to make drugs illegal played on racism and fear. Everyone was told through the media that drugs caused racial minorities to become violent and to be dissatisfied having sex with members of their own races and that to protect White females, drugs needed to be made illegal. There was no proof of any of this, but people were manipulated into believing this.
Since that era, remnants of racism have remained in drug policies. Members of ethnic minorities are still much more likely than others to be arrested for drug offenses, and still more likely to get longer prison time. The laws are tougher against crack cocaine than powdered cocaine, and crack cocaine is used more by ethnic minorities.
The limitations of the civil rights movement (In relation to Blacks in the US) were as follows. 1) The mindset and ideologies of white supremacist followers could not be changed by alterations in the status and formation of laws desegregating and pronouncing blacks as equal. The individual is the only one who can change their own ideas and thoughts, no court can do this. 2) The Civil Rights movement was not able to desegregate housing and residential areas which had long before been created and defined so as to separate lower income blacks from higher income whites who saw blacks as unworthy of living in their neighborhoods. 3) Ever increasing incarceration rates of blacks, due mainly to drugs and other forms of survival that have arisen in low income, "ghetto" areas due to a lack of opportunities and education has caused a depletion of potential workers and income in black neighborhoods. 4) There were many more limitations of the Civil Rights Movement, but these are a few of the key limitations. The civil rights movement, despite the above limitations did provide the roots for many modern black and non white achievements, as well as female and homosexual achievements which has greatly changed american society.

It is challenging to provide an exact number of police officers who have died in the war on drugs as the statistics vary by country and year. However, many law enforcement agencies do not specifically track or report police deaths directly related to the war on drugs.
According to the site I have indicated, and according to other Civil Rights web sites I have examined, the first sit-in of the United States Civil Rights movement occurred on 1 February 1960, when four Black students attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College, entered a Woolworth store in Greensburo, North Carolina to purchase some supplies. They then proceeded to the lunch counter in the store and asked to be served. They were refused service, as they expected. They were forced to leave when the store closed. According to the manager of the store, the first sit-in was not considered a history making event. He said, "They can just sit there. It's nothing to me." No. They have the right to freedom of opinion and expression. Civil rights are protection against discrimination- if you were not hired for that reason or if they are harrassing you, then you might have a case. If you know that you have not been involved with drugs, do not let this person affect you. If it does bother you, prove it to them.
