A cook in a royal household would spend a very long time preparing food that was meant to show off one's wealth to dinner guests with a lavish meal that stretched out through several courses and could include fancy meat pies, spiced wine, and elaborate desserts. the wealthy people didn't care what the peasents or anyone felt they just wanted their wonderful meal.
