My father lives in Madeira and I have to post birthday cards etc around 2 weeks before the date to ensure it arrives on time. Even using Royal Mail accelerated post option doesn't help! I have no idea why it takes so long. I'd say the shortest time it's taken to get something there is 1 1/2 weeks.
