In respect to the history of the USSR in World War II, the 'longest siege' of the conflict was without doubt the siege of Leningrad. Surrounded by German and Finnish forces in the fall of 1941 (September 8th), Leningrad was not securely re-connected to the rest of the country until January of 1944, thereby leading to its remembrance as the '900-day siege' -- one of the longest sieges in all of military history.

The longest siege in recorded history was the siege of Candia (present day Iraklion on Crete). The fortified town was besieged by Ottoman Turks for 22 years, from 1648 to 1669. The fortress was defended by Venetians, supported by allies from Christendom, mainly Knights of Malta, France and Austria. The fortress surrendered on honorary terms after the French withdrew.
