The US Military has lost a total of 5,452 soldiers between Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001.

Iraq 4,397 total US military deaths since 2003

Afghanistan 1,055 total US military deaths since 2001

Being that there are more soldiers in the Army than all of the other 3 branches combined and that the US Army has the most soldiers on the ground fighting, the Death Rate is going to be higher than any other branch (its all about odds and statistics, when there is more people you have a higher toll). The majority of the causalities in Iraq and Afghanistan are those of the US Army and the Marine Corps (approx..60% Army and 40% Marines)
