There are three egyptain queens in history There were thousands of Queens in Ancient Egypt but only 6, possibly 8, that ruled as a Pharaoh.

The ancient Egyptian empires date back approximately 5,000 years. They dominated the areas around where the modern nation of Egypt is now situated. However, these empires were larger in ancient times then Egypt is now. The rulers of ancient Egypt were called "pharaohs" the equivalent to "kings". They were in fact ancient monarchies and unless there was a revolution, families of many pharaohs lasted hundreds of years. Pharaohs were supreme rulers. They controlled the non-ruling masses that populated the empires of Egypt. Either by personally making laws and appointing members of their families to carry out the pharaohs' commands, they deemed themselves to ne infallible and divine as well.
