Depending on the size of the library, you would need at least one employee to run a library. Many smaller libraries - including school libraries and bookmobile libraries, for example - are, in fact, completely run by only one person. However, for larger libraries with larger collections, more than one person would be needed. The minimum number of people required depends on a number of factors, so it is impossible to state the exact number of employees that would be needed (if more than one is required).

If you want to read and research children's literature, for example, you probably would not go to the library of a law school. If you wanted to get journal materials in a specialized field of science, you would not go to the local branch of your public library. You would need to do some checking to find libraries that have collections that interest you.
