The graves are not at the beach itself but are located in Normandy at a special graveyard. There are close to 40,000 graves the last I heard. I could be wrong because some families have transferred their loved ones to their own nation.

How can you find the grave site of your great uncle killed at Normandy?

Try the War Graves Commision (now the Commonwealth War Graves Commission) through their website http://www.cwgc.org/. They maintain all the rcords for all the war graves, not just in Normandy but everywhere. Good Luck US Cemetery: Go to ABMC website and enter the soldier's last name and first name and it will search the cemetery located at OMAHA beach. This only lists the soldiers who are currently buried there. You can also search by unit Number.
