The Rhineland Campaign, part of World War II, resulted in significant casualties, with estimates of around 100,000 soldiers and civilians killed. This campaign occurred from September 1944 to March 1945 and included fierce fighting as Allied forces advanced through the Rhineland region in Germany. The exact numbers can vary depending on sources, but the impact was substantial in terms of both military and civilian losses.

This is a hard question. Many sources say different things and some only say how many casualties (wounded and dead) there were. The last source i saw said over 840 New Zealanders died at Passchendaele but it may be more than that. Could not find any info on how many ANZACS (Aussies and Kiwis) died.

Of Sherman's army in the punitive raids on Georgia, and the capture of Savannah: 10 officers, 93 men. The Georgia campaign was not heavy combat. It was meant to destroy farms and civilian morale. Sherman was surprised when people talked about it as a campaign. To him, it was a transfer of troops to the coast.
