The Huli tribe, indigenous to the highlands of Papua New Guinea, primarily get around on foot, navigating the rugged terrain of their mountainous environment. They often travel between villages, gardens, and markets along footpaths. In some cases, they may also use bicycles or motorbikes, depending on the availability of resources and infrastructure. Traditional methods of transportation are supplemented by modern means as the region develops.
The Huli tribe, located in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, primarily obtains their food through subsistence farming, cultivating crops such as sweet potatoes, taro, and various vegetables. They also practice foraging and hunting, supplementing their diet with protein from local wildlife, including pigs and birds. Fishing in nearby rivers and streams contributes to their food sources as well. Overall, their diet is closely tied to the land and traditional agricultural practices.
The Huli Tribe has existed for about 600 to 1,000 years in Papua New Guinea.
The Huli tribe in Papua New Guinea mainly speaks the Huli language, which is a part of the Trans-New Guinea language family. The Huli language is primarily spoken in the Hela Province of Papua New Guinea.
