There was no “brave soldiers “ who helped the Pilgrims. The Mayflower had a crew of about 40 men and they stayed until the Pilgrims got established.
The Pilgrims got to what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts, from Plymouth, England, by sailing vessel. One hundred of them survived the grueling 66-day journey across the Atlantic Ocean in 1620 on the good ship Mayflower.
The Mayflower got it's name because it was scheduled to set sail in May, the flower part symbolized hope, and prosperity in the New World.
No they did not, because they rode on the Mayflower and the Speedwell, but the Speedwell was leaky, so it had to go to shore, so they rode the Mayflower and some got sick, some died(even if there was some doctors on the Mayflower), and some got seasick.

Yes, they hired the ship and the captain.

Life was pretty dull and boring. Most people got sick and few of them died. It was relative poor living conditions and sanitation on board the ship.
