First of all, the "Battle of Britain" as it is popularly known was specifically an air war. The Germans wanted to gain air superiority over England first, so that their ships would be safe (or safer) operating near the British Isles. So most of the fighting was between fighters in the air over England and the nearby seas.

Second, why is this question in the category of "Pearl Harbor"?? That makes no sense. I'll try to edit that if I can.
