It probably took no longer than fifteen or twenty minutes for the Roman to assemble their artillery, possibly less. The army was very efficient and as much of their artillery was disassembled after use and reassembled when needed, they were experts at the job.It probably took no longer than fifteen or twenty minutes for the Roman to assemble their artillery, possibly less. The Spanish Armada
The Spanish Armada of 1588 primarily consisted of large galleons, which were heavily armed and used for both war and trade. It also included smaller vessels such as galleys, which were rowed and utilized for maneuverability in combat, and support ships like supply and troop transport vessels. The fleet was designed to carry soldiers, artillery, and provisions for an invasion of England. Overall, the Armada comprised around 130 ships of various types, reflecting a mix of military might and logistical support.
The Spanish Armada boasted several strengths, including its formidable size, with around 130 ships and a large number of experienced sailors and soldiers. It was well-equipped with heavy artillery, giving it significant firepower in naval engagements. Additionally, the Armada had the backing of Spain's vast resources and wealth, allowing for extensive logistical support and sustained campaigns. Its goal of invading England also capitalized on Spain's strong naval traditions and strategic maritime experience.
It was not so much that the English fleet destroyed the Armada. The Spanish ships were caught in gales off the coasts of Scotland and Ireland, which wrecked most of the them on the rocky coasts.
I'm not sure if this will help much but... The Spanish Armada lost to the English fleet in 1588.
Good English seamanship and very bad weather. Many of the Armada ships were converted merchant ships better suited for cargo than warfare. It was not intended to engage the English in a sea battle but to carry armed men to a designated point and off load them. Spanish artillery was poor, the English were much better. The greatest problem was that King Philip insisted on controlling the Armada. He had no training at all for naval matters. He believed that God was guiding him and thus the mission would succeed.
