If the rifle still has the (original) Imperial Crest on it, the CHRYSANTHEMUM flower (called the "MUM" in the firearms world) atop the rifle's breech (chamber), then it'll have more value than a rifle which is missing the MUM. Surrendered rifles had them ground off per US/Japanese regulations. Battlefield pick-ups still have the MUMs on them. Pre-WWII Arisakas were 6.5mm, WWII Arisakas were 7.7mm. In good shape (not missing original wood or metal, cracks, etc.), and in ORIGINAL military dress (original military issue-NOT "sporterized" as probably 50% of them were during the 1950's & 1960's); their values are climbing and some collectors are headed over the $500.00 mark for some of these rifles. The airborne models, which disassemble into TWO sections for paratroopers, can go into the thousands of dollars, depending upon condition. The most important part is ORIGINAL MARKINGS and ORIGINAL WOOD & STEEL. The second most important part is the rifle's condition. If you have an Arisaka which has no MUM, nor any indication that it ever had a MUM on it; you might have a "training rifle." That rifle was designed to fire blanks ONLY! And it's collector value will be in another entirely different category...
Any WWII Arisaka in full military dress (original military issue), in good condition, and still retaining it's MUM stamped on the upper receiver (MUM=Chrysanthemum) will exceed $500.00 easily.
100-1000 USD depending on condition, finish, accessories, etc..
