The Gunpowder Plot was a plot devised by a Catholic nobleman, by the name of Robert Catesby. He and some others devised a plot to rent a cellar under The Houses of Parliament, and fill it with Gunpowder. Then, they would blow up Parliament and James I, and take Isabella, and pronounce her The Catholic Queen Elizabeth of England. Here are the names of the conspirators:Robert Catesby, Thomas Wintour, Robert Wintour,Guy Fawkes, John Wright, Christopher Wright,Robert Keyes, Thomas Percy, John Grant, Ambrose Rookwood, Sir Everard Digby, Francis Tresham,Thomas Bates.

During the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, many conspirators were captured at the house of Sir Everard Digby, where they had gathered. The plot aimed to assassinate King James I by blowing up the House of Lords. The authorities acted on a tip-off and arrested several plotters, effectively thwarting their plans. Ultimately, the failed attempt led to severe repercussions for those involved.

Eight people (or ten, see below) were executed for involvement in the gunpowder plot. Everard Digby, Robert Wintour, John Grant, and Thomas Bates were hanged and then cut down and castrated, disembowelled, and then quartered on January 30th. The next day Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwood, Robert Keyes, and Guy Fawkes were hanged, drawn, and quartered. Steven Littleton and Henry Garnet were executed some time later. Robert Catesby and Thomas Percy were killed trying to escape after the plot was exposed. However their bodies were exhumed so that they also could be decapitated. It is debatable as to whether or not this can be counted as an execution, so I have not included it in the tally above.
