The kinds of horses used in the Civil War were mostly (from what we know) were:
Ø the breeds were Morgans, Tennessee Walkers, American Saddlebreds Thoroughbreds, mules, mix breeds and additional imported breeds.
Ø the genders were Were usually mares or geldings
Ø the hiehts were Were usually 15 or 16 hands high (a hand is a measurement to horses find the height of a horse, each hand is 4 inches)
Ø the age was Usually 5 or 6 years old
