Medieval people believed they could avoid going to hell through faith in God, adherence to the teachings of the Church, and participation in the sacraments, particularly confession and communion. Good works, such as acts of charity and penance, were also seen as essential for salvation. Additionally, many sought the intercession of saints and engaged in prayer and pilgrimage to secure divine favor and forgiveness of sins. Overall, a combination of faith, moral living, and Church practices guided their efforts to attain eternal salvation.

Medieval people would used home remedies that they made from willow bark or other materials. People in medieval times would not normally see a doctor because of the distance and not able to be reached easily. Medieval people did get treats and snacks. Poor laboring people got snacks often, though not sweets, because they needed food to be able to work. People who could afford them ate fruits, including dried fruits and raisins. Wealthy people got desserts, including a variety of pastries and cakes. Yes, churches instructed the people. One of the reasons for stained glass with people in it (as opposed to more modern versions with just blocks of color) was to remind people of the stories from the bible. People did not have access to bibles and wouldn't have been able to read them anyway. They were, for the most part, illiterate so priests (one of the few groups of people educated in Medieval times) had to teach the people.
