Put simply, Nazi Germany was defeated because of bad decisions made by the Führer, Adolf Hitler, and advantage the Allies (mainly Britain, USA and Russia) had in number of troops, sometimes technology, and production.

Hitler's decision to invade Russia was a difficult one from the outset. In the Winter of 1941, Germany lost the initiative and its forces became stuck in battle. Hitler would not allow any retreat, and decisions to attack the wrong targets were made.

The German army was not equipped to fight a Winter battle, wearing mostly Summer clothing. The Russians eventually pushed the Germans all the way back to Berlin.

Meanwhile, the Western Allies bombed Germany relentlessly, and planned an ultimately successful invasion. That placed Germany in a noose.This question could be answered in a lot more depth, but this is the simplest run-down. By their war with Soviet Russia. Hitler attempted to conquer Russia, and the Red Army drove his forces back all the way to Berlin.

The Russians designed and developed their superior T-34 tank to take on the Tiger tanks of the Wehrmacht. Of course there were many other reasons of tactics and strategy as well. But during World War II the Panzers were mighty and awesome that helped the Gemans in all of their blitzkrieg victories. Finally it was the Russian T-34 that turned the tide of the war against the Germans. But giving all credit to the T-34 would be unfair. Remember it was the joint strategy of the Americans, British, Russians that brought a quick conclusion to the war. The Allies had established unchallenged air superiority in the skies of Europe while the Luftwaffe was practically wiped out. The Panzers were sitting ducks for the Allied bombers. Basically Germany struggled to defend her own homeland as her almost decimated armies had to fight a losing battle on three fronts. == The two main advantages to the German panzer divisions were the (1) blitz-kreig tactics and (2) the superior performance of the German tanks.

These two advantages helped the Germans early in the war to conquer countries and armies. However, at the end of the war, this was no longer an advantage.
