This is only a brief answer, but women were treated much better under Lenin once he had come into power. They were given equal rights in the work place, and divorce became much easier. But when Stalin came into power he effectively eradicated divorce, he wanted to put more emphasis on happy families. Even with all of this the respect of women barely changed....In a book it says "I thought I saw a person on the darkness, but I was mistaken. It was only a women" (dont quote me on this)
