Central Valley of California is several hundred miles long and about a hundred miles long with millions of acres of farming and areas that are dreary and blank. Anyone driving up Interstate 5 will see billions of gallons of water feeding crops through irrigation equipment. Some of the exits on that freeway have farm stands selling their goods. When you go through Gilroy, California you can smell onions and garlic from about 3 miles away.

At one time this valley fed most of the United States with all its fruit, vegetables and nuts. There were more dairies and beef ranches than most states there too but it has changed over time. But you cannot miss this valley from the air or from the ground. It is one HUGE farming place that is colored with green and many other colors.
