The major impact was how it could be implemented into many things..... it was used to run machinery. So now factories could be built anywhere, not just along fast rivers. Products could be shipped faster when it was implemented into the Steam Locomotive and Steam Boat, and that was a major economical boost for us because the quality of crops would be much better so that meant more money. So it was important for its impact on the economy and its impact on vehicles to transport goods and people (because people were spreading due to the Louisiana purchase.)
