farmers used the shaduf to irrigate their fields
:):) its true
In ancient Egypt, farmers primarily used tools such as the plow, made from wood and often drawn by oxen, to till the fertile Nile soil. They also utilized sickles for harvesting crops like wheat and barley, and hoes for cultivating the land. Additionally, wooden shadufs were employed for irrigation, allowing farmers to lift water from the Nile to their fields. These tools were essential for maximizing agricultural productivity in the challenging desert environment.
Lower Egypt, they were located in lower Egypt because when the Nile river floods the farmers get water which helps the crops grow.

By trapping water in dams and weirs, and leading irrigation channels through the fields.
Lower Egypt is better because it have a bigger population of farmers. Also because the Nile River is thinner there, so when it over-flows to water the crops, it will not over-water the crops. Hope this helps!

Floodings were very important for the farmers after they had learned how to use it. They dug canals from the river to their fields, and where the canals began, they built gates and with this irrigation system they gradually learned how to make use of the river and how to make their lands fertile. The Nile flooded its banks in July and left fertile silt on the fields. When the growing plant needed water, they opened the gates and the water flowed down the fields. They also used the shaduf, a tool for lifting water to the higher areas.
farmers leave their fields flooded with water as water has high specific heat and can stop the veins of the crops from bursting. -Anay Vakil
