AnswerThe reason boys being wanted rather than the girls is because when the boys grew up and got a wife, the wife would leave her family and look after the boys parents. The girls original parents would be left till last, hense them being selfish and wanting boys. Also people were only aloud 1 child per couple in China (I think this rule still exists), so if any couple had a girl it is likely they would be abandoned, drowned or sent to the moantains, this is all because they felt when they got older there care would be in jeopardy.
