Change is not always good. There are 3 events that support the thesis that change is not always good. The first example took place on January 30, 1933 when Germany elected Adolf Hitler as their leader, which led for him torturing the Jews and kill them all. The next example happened when Hitler banned all competitive political parties. The last example is when Hitler took full control of radio and media. These 3 events show that change is not always good.

The first example that supports the thesis that change is not always good is when Adolf Hitler becoming Germany's dictator. He first was elected as chancellor in a parliamentary government, and was slowly removing people from power in the parliament. He soon became the only one in power, which helped him to become Germany's dictator. He was chosen for chancellor on January 30, 1933. Germany was having serious economic issues and needed help immediately. Hitler found out about this and told Germany that he would fix all their problems if they chose him as their dictator. Germany was very desperate and immediately chose him as their leader. Hitler's way of fixing things was to create his own political party called Nazis. His strategy was to blame the Jews for all of the difficulties the German's were facing at that time. Also rounded them like cattle and later killed them in a couple of ways. The first way was the gas chamber where they slowly died breathing in the toxic smell. The other way he tortured them was by shooting them with a gun called the gewehr 43. This event was called the Holocaust. The places where the Jews were held were also inadequate for humans; they were random warehouses where they were stored by the thousands. There were many inhumane practices that the Jews were made to endure. He spared no one, not even children. Hitler lied to the Jews he was killing, by telling them as his guards would lead them to gas chambers that they were taking a shower, and soon going home. The change that happened was Hitler's rise to power starting at the parliament where he was slowly wiping people out of power, so he would have all of the power. This soon made him a dictator, which made him feel entitled to kill 6 million Jews. This was definitely not a good change.

The next example was when Hitler banned all competitive political parties. Hitler wanted everyone to make him their leader and wanted no other person to compete against the Nazis. On July 14, 1933, Adolf Hitler's Nazis Party was officially declared the only political party in Germany, and outlawed any formation of any other parties. Hitler wanted everyone to follow him so he did something called Gleichschaltung, meaning a switch to the same wavelength. This made it easier for him to instill only his ideas with no objection from anyone. This happened because without any other choices, only the Nazis party, they were forced to vote for Hitler. When faced with only one option the German people really did not stand a chance. Hitler already had all the power in Germany, however this wasn't enough for him, and he also wanted to take their right to vote. The change that took place was literally revoking people's immediate and future right to vote, which was not good because they had to choose Hitler as their leader even if they had different ideas in mind.

The very last topic is about Hitler controlling his country's radio and media. Hitler wanted complete power even power over people's thoughts about him. The way he lured people's ideas and perception of him or what he was doing was by censoring information he didn't want them to hear. One of the examples that show ways he kept secrets from his country was when he was torturing and killing Jews. Germans didn't know about this. They thought he was a good guy helping them. But since he blocked the information about him torturing the Jews, they didn't know any bad things he was doing behind their back. The change in this horrific event was the limitation of information Germans were getting from their leader. Hitler changed people's thoughts about him by keeping all his bad actions he was doing private and all the good doings open. This was a change, and this was definitely not a good change.

To conclude Change is not always good. There are many events that show change not always being good; were when Hitler became Germany's dictator. He had this opportunity by being chancellor in a parliamentary government, and he was slowly removing people from power so he would have power over everything enough to become Germany's dictator. This enabled him to put 6 million Jews in gas and torture chambers and kill them. The next example is when Hitler banned all competitive political parties so that the country would have no choice but to vote for his party, the Nazis party. Finally the last example that shows that change is not always good was when Hitler took full control of radio and media. Hitler kept secrets from his country by censoring and manipulating information that Germans would watch or listen to. These three historic events show us that change is not always good.
