Is the world going to end on may 21st?

No, people have been predicting the end of the world for as long as people have been around (it makes them feel important).

If you stand back and think about it, Earth has been orbiting the Sun for about 4600 million years now so why should it end in May?

However, in another 4000 million years the earth will end when the Sun expands into a red giant. When is does this mankind will not be around to see it even if it does happen in May.

If, by chance the world was going to end on May 21, I would have most definitly heard about it. Many people are expecting the world to end on many different dates... so the question is, who are you going to belive? I'm afraid to tell you this but, the question will remain unanswed until the actuall date. Unless scientists can show us proof, I belive these questions will remain unanswered.

No. Some guy made it up to be famous and rich. That same guy has predicted the world will end all sorts of years.

The world (according to The Bible) will NOT end on May 21, 2011, or any other self-proclaimed "Judgement Day." Mark 13:32 states word for word that no man knows the day or the hour of Judgement, not even Jesus. Only God the Father knows this, so with this in mind it is impossible for the world to end with our knowing in advance. It will just happen, without warning.

No. There have always been people who said they knew the date of the end of the world. In 1834 a man predicted the end of the world in 1843 and preached about it for 10 years. He told people they had to live good lives and wear white clothing on the day. The day came and went and nothing happened. The next day he said that he had read the bible wrong so the end was coming in 1844 and people had to get ready. Many believed him, sewed their white clothing, didn't plant crops, and spent savings. On the day he said it was to happen the people got up, put on the clothes they had made and stood on hill tops waiting. Nothing happened so around noon they went home to their cold houses to start life.
