Approximately 3,403,100 US servicemen served in SEA (southeast Asia) during the war. About 809,000 of them were in Thailand or elsewhere (not in country) supporting the bombing missions. Plus, another hundred or so thousand men in country supporting air strikes...plus the aircrewmen & actual pilots...that's well over a million airmen. You'll be the first to make a list of one million men, if you can do it.

The US Air Force didn't exist in WW II, it was created in 1947, before that it was a part of the US Army.
Approximately 293,000 USAF Airmen (counting officers) served in Vietnam. Over 5,000 US Aircrewmen were killed in the war, from all branches.

During the Vietnam War, a total of 16 US General officers were killed in action. These General officers held ranks ranging from Brigadier General to Major General. Their deaths were a significant loss to the US military leadership during the conflict.

The Allies lost more than 16,000,000 soldiers whereas the Axis Powers lost over 8,000,000 soldiers for a combined total of about 24,000,000 these figures do not take in account all the innocent civilians that also died during the Holocaust and other means during the conflict.
