I saw this question sitting in our database and it has become fairly old. I thought I better let you know this question could not be answered because you did not indicate what you needed to know about the American occupation of Japan for seven years. I can tell you that occupation went very well. The Japanese learned about the modern world, women's rights, girls got go to school for the first time, democracy, modern medicine, modern science, modern business practices and they turned their economy around to being a world trade economy.
