No, not at all. She was Austrian, a country that France had been in war with for years. The French did not want a foreigner on the throne, especially not an Austrian. Also, even before she came to France, the revolution was already smuldering because of the financial disasters of Louis XV which he did to the national treasury. France was already almost bankrupt when Marie ZAntoinette stepped in the picture, and because the French needed someone to blame it all on, and she was Austrian, she was the perfect victim. The people tried to make all of France believe that she had no concern for her people, spending money on wigs and dresses and throwing wild parties while the population was starving and desperate. The people did believe it, although she was completely innocent and killed her and her husband, destroying the whole French monarchy and the French credibility all around the world for as far as the French had that anyway.

Did the French Revolution give people a greater say?

There are several French Revolutions. Assuming that you are referring to French Revolution of 1789, the people as a whole did not really get a much larger say. However, the leadership shifted from being the monarchy and the nobility to a bourgeoisie dictatorship. The French Revolution of 1823 had few tangible results (this is the French Revolution of Les Miserables). The French Revolution of 1848 was successful in creating the Second Republic of France, which was promptly ended three years later by Napoleon III and the creation of the Second French Empire.

How did the American Revolution differ from the French Revolution?

French was an internal revolution that resulted in a complete restructuring of society. In america, all they had to to was keep fighting until the british ran out of money. When they won, the only thing that changed in day to day life was who taxes went to.

How were Latin American Independence Movements from the French Revolution?

None, really. The French Revolution (1787-1799) was barely noticeable, as it happened to France, and European power; as most of Latin America was within the sphere of influence of Spain and Portugal, these territories weren't affected by such conflict.

How was the economy during the french revolution?

The economy was really poor during the French Revolution, one of the reasons that it occurred. For example, the prices of bread were rising at alarming costs, and the people began to starve. Bread and grain were a major factor for the lives of the French at the time. The French were heavily in debt due to helping out the Americans in the American Revolution, the French-Indian War, as well as the expenditures the monarchy racked up, such as Marie Antoinette's wardrobe. Overall, the economy was TERRIBLE. There's more information here if you need it!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causes_of_the_French_Revolution#Economics_And_Finances
