The Soviet Union put nine Luna probes on the moon, making a total of 23 Earth origin spacecraft to land on the moon.
Space ship? Ain't never been a space ship that landed on the moon. There have been a number of space craftthat landed on the moon over the years. The Indian government launched the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft on October 22, 2008, and its Moon Impact Probe made contact with the lunar surface "in a controlled manner" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandrayaan_1) on November 14.
If that's not what you were thinking of, then go to wikipedia and type in "moon landing." You'll get a comprehensive list of all of the space vehicles that have ever made it to the moon's surface (in one way or another.)
