This will be a little tricky to describe without pictures. Straighten the wire out, and then twist one end reasonably tightly, for maybe half to three quarters of its length. Take the remaining end and bend it into a curving hook shape, with the point pointing down toward the center of the twist. If you put it on a table, you would basically have a twist or jumble of wire, and a broad "handle" or hook coming up and ending with the tip pointing down toward the center of the twist. Go to a shelf or table and place the pointing tip of the wire on the edge, with the twist hanging below. The "handle" will bow outward, over the edge of the table and the center of the twist will be roughly directly under the point. The whole thing should hang freely, with only the tip touching the surface of the table. This will happen because the center of gravity of the twist will suspend right under the touching point on the table. The effect of the twist, with its center of gravity, will cause the bowed hook to curve right over the table edge without touching. The whole thing should hang freely, suspended only by the point on the table's surface.

Why did science and religion clash in the 1920's?

The church was losing power and not happy about it. So the people dedicated to the church went against the people crossing over into a science point of view. It was a different point of view for everybody and if you didnt join what someone thought that you should join then they basically thought you were an idiot.

What is a spear?

A spear is basically a pointed stick. As soon as people realised the point was more lethal if harder theny they started adding a point of bone or metal. The soldiers of the Roman Legions carried such weapons, usually 5 feet long with ahrdened steel point. This was known as a 'pilum' . The Zulu warriors of southern Africa also favoured a similar weapon, but slightly shorter. This was the 'assegai'.

What did Benjamin Franklin do to achieve his goals?

Was medieval science superior or inferior to Roman achievements?

After the fall of the Roman Empire (in the west) Europe was in what we call the Dark Ages, and during this time science (and most everything else) was inferior to what the Romans had had. It took a long time to regain Roman technology but at some point during the Medieval times we began catching up to them.

Describe how to work harden a metal?

Cut a straight piece of metal coat hanger, about 10 inches long. Bend it back and forth a few times. The point where the bend is will now be work hardened. *If you repeat this bending too many times, it will break because the hardening also makes it brittle.

What is the purpose of the rear derailleur hanger on a Shimano bike and how does it affect the performance of the rear derailleur?

The rear derailleur hanger on a Shimano bike is a small metal component that attaches the rear derailleur to the frame of the bike. Its purpose is to provide a secure and adjustable mounting point for the rear derailleur. The rear derailleur hanger plays a crucial role in the performance of the rear derailleur by ensuring proper alignment and tension of the chain, which allows for smooth and precise shifting of gears. If the rear derailleur hanger is damaged or misaligned, it can negatively impact the performance of the rear derailleur, leading to issues such as poor shifting, chain skipping, and potential damage to the drivetrain components.

What is incipient melting point?

The incipient melting point refers to how metal is heated. It is the point just before the metal reaches its melting point.

What is the purpose of a rear mech hanger on a bicycle frame?

The purpose of a rear mech hanger on a bicycle frame is to provide a mounting point for the rear derailleur, which is a component that helps shift the chain between different gears on the rear cassette. The hanger is designed to be replaceable in case of damage, protecting the frame from more serious harm.

What is the metal point of argon?

There is no metal point for argon as it is a non-metal. But I guess the question might be melting point of argon and it is equal to 83.81 K or −189.34 °C or −308.81 °F.

How a thermometer can be used to check the purity of a metal?

A thermometer can be used to check the purity of a metal by measuring its melting or freezing point. Impurities in a metal can alter its melting point, so a pure metal should have a specific and consistent melting point. By comparing the measured melting point with the known melting point of the pure metal, the level of purity can be evaluated.
