There was cleopatra, but i thinnk she wasn't egyptian. then there was Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was the first woman pharaoh. after her husband died, she didn't want to give it up to her son, she she took on the throne. She wanted to carry on tradition, so it is said that she meant to rule as a king-not a queen, but strictly as a king.
