that everyone was okay with a Monarchy, and it's CLEARLY NOT okay!!Should the colonies declare themselves an independent nation, or should they stay under British rule?
Arabs never ruled Palestine as a separate country or as an individual province, but what is considered "Mandatory Palestine" was under the control of Arab Empires from 636 CE when it was conquered by Rightly-Guided Caliph Omar to 1073 CE when the Seljuk Turkish Empire conquered it. It would also pass to the Crusaders and the Kurdish Ayyubids for a century or two. Since the Turks, Kurds, and Crusaders are not Arabs, their 800+ years of control over Palestine should not be counted. As a result, Palestine was in Arab hands for 437 years. If you add the modern Jordanian and Egyptian occupations of the West Bank and Gaza Strip to this count as well as the legal tenure of the Palestinian Authority, that is another 38 years (18+20) of Arab rule over Palestine, making for a total of 475 years.

The second sentence with the comma means you are telling your grandfather that you both should eat.
No, the word "and" should not follow a semicolon. Semicolons are used to separate independent clauses; if you want to include "and," it would typically be used within one of the independent clauses separated by the semicolon.

The British Mandate of Palestine was disolved and the independent State of Israel was founded on 78% of that land in 1948, with the remaining 22% under Jordanian and Egyptian occupation. The disappearance of Palestine in 1948 is no different that the disappearance of Rhodesia, New Grenada, and numerous other territories that were given names by colonists that the local inhabitants rejected. However, there is currently a State of Palestine which has de jure control of the Gaza Strip (as of 1993) and some bantustans in the West Bank (as of 2000). This Palestine should be on your map.
