Yes, ancient Egypt did have a form of detention for criminals. The ancient Egyptians had a system of justice that included punishments for crimes such as theft, assault, and murder. No. Some are, but some aren't. What are the jails for? If all people were nice, there would be no criminals and no jails. Even if people do not do anything that is illegal and go to jail or do not get caught doing illegal things, some are not nice. People who are not nice bully others, steal, and worse. There are lots of nice people in the world, but one has to be careful not to get involved with those who are not nice.
