The chief American negotiator of the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Revolutionary War was Benjiman Franklin. Accompanying him were John Jay, Henry Laurens and John Adams. Franklin was such a shrewd negotiator, that he nearly persuaded the British to hand over the entire province of Quebec. The British initially agreed, then changed their minds.
