Computers weren't affordable till the 70's, actually. Also, that's a statement, not a question.
I would say the late 1970s or even the1980s, for serious penetration of computers into homes at a reasonable price. I have noticed many questions in the form of statements, nobody seems to care these days about teaching children to express themselves logically.
alright chill out.
After the microprocessor was developed in the 1970s.
1973 but became available in 83 for like 3500 bucks,, 1990 they became affordable
PowerPC (short form of Performance Optimization With Enhanced RISC-Performance Computing, sometimes abbreviated as PPC) is a RISC computer architecture created by the 1991 APPLE-IBM-MOTOROLA alliance known as AIM. ...Originally invented for personal computers.PowerPC cpus since became very popular as embedded and high performance processors and thus made computers more affordable.. hope i helped a bit :)
No, microchips made missile guidance computers possible in the early 1960s. The microprocessor (a specific type of microchip containing a complete CPU) made microcomputers possible in the early 1970s and when microprocessors became powerful enough in the early 1980s, the first personal computers.
The ENIAC was eventually shut down because more advanced, easier to use, and cheaper to operate computers became available.
Computers became common in homes.

Microcomputers belong to the fourth generation of computers. This generation is characterized by the use of microprocessors, which are compact integrated circuits that contain the functions of a CPU. Microcomputers, often referred to as personal computers, became widely accessible and affordable for individual use, revolutionizing computing for personal, educational, and business applications.
Probably the companies that joined in marketing "personal computers" to consumers. That is when computers became smaller, more easily accessible, and people started to buy them for their homes. Before that, computers were gigantic things that only companies could afford. IBM, Apple, and Bill Gates and his software were some of the people who helped.
Mosaic was the first obe. Just go a check out wikipedia and type in Mosaic and you will get your answer. From, PH
Personal computers became popular to ordinary people because of the wide range of software programs.

It changed the size, speed and capacity of computers. A computer that fits in a watch once filled several rooms.
The typewriter started to decline in popularity in the 1980s with the rise of personal computers, and it was largely discontinued by the early 2000s as computers became the dominant tool for writing and word processing. The last manufacturer of typewriters, Godrej and Boyce in India, stopped production in 2011.

Alan Turing's research on determining whether a mathematical problem is solvable laid the foundation for computer science. Home computers first became available in the early 1980s.
