Treaty of Greenville
A treaty was made between the United States and the Creek Indians west of the Mississippi, at Fort Gibson, on the 14th day of February 1833, by which a country was provided for the Seminoles in pursuance of the existing arrangements between the United States and that tribe.
The Europeans that came to the United States or rather, formed the United States thought that it was their destiny (Manifest Destiny) to spread across the United States from the Atlantic to the Pacific. In the process they almost eradicated the native Americans, the American Indians. Those they did not kill, they forced to live on little sections of land called reservations. During this process, the Europeans broke treaty after treaty with the Indians. The treatment of the American Indians, whom were often described as "red savages" was savage in itself and one of the great shames of the history of the United States, that along with the institution of slavery.
Pinckney's Treaty was a treaty signed between the United States and Spain. It defined the boundaries between the United States and the Spanish colonies and guaranteed the United States navigation rights on the Mississippi River.
