As a kid, George Patton loved riding horses and pretending he was riding into battle.
The names of the horses that General George S. Patton rode have mostly been lost to time and a lack of reporting on their names, therefore it is unknown what the horses name was. However in WW2 he did help to save the famous Arabian Weitz II
Patton was given a Lipizzaner horse during WWII because he helped save the horses from the Russians.
Because Patton and his wife came from wealthy families he was often given a hard time because other superiors did not live as good as he did. Many where envious of his lifestyle which he didn't flaunt but did not ignore. He drove nice cars, owned horses, lived off base in nice houses, owned a yacht. He also suffered dyslexia and had to repeat a grade at west point. His motto was never give up and believe in oneself.

Patton's favorite horse was "Big Red". Big Red was the "riderless horse" in General Patton's funeral procession. That is according to my late father who was an army private at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, in the late 30's and took care of Colonel (at the time) George Patton's horses.
Patton did enjoy horses. During WWII he ordered the removal of the Lippizan Stallions to save them from being exterminated by Nazi officers.
