Who was Athena in ancient Greece how was she portrayed and what symbol was used for her?

Athena in Greek mythology was the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. She was also the patron goddess of Athens after her and Poseidon had a sort of competition for the city. She has multiple symbols including the owl, a serpent, an olive branch, and a lance. These symbols are also sacred to her. She has many more but these are her more common ones. Hope that was sorta helpful =P

What features made the Parthenon one of the most beautiful temples in ancient Greece?

The first was the money to build and beautify it - Athenians led the anti-Persian Delian League. After peace was made with Persia, Athens continued to force these 200 Greek cities to pay the annual war funds to Athens. This money was used to beautify Athens, including the Parthenon. Perched on the Acropolis, no expense was spared on its construction, with a central place for the statue of the goddess Athena (parthenos = virgin = Athena), surrounded by columns on all four sides, with carved reliefs on the surfaces of the structure. The surfaces were faced with marble.

What role did the Parthenon play in Ancient Greek life?

Made offerings to the goddess Athena and asked for guidance and support as she was patron goddess of the city; stored the city's money there under the protection of the goddess; sought sanctuary there under protection of the goddess.
