Germany didn't attack pearl harbor dumb***, that was japan
Japan thought that the US was going to attack them so Japan attacked us first even though we were not going to attack them. And pearl harbor ended when Japan ran out of planes on there carriers.
In a brief explanation, the U.S. declared war on Japan due to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and other battles in the Pacific. Japan, at the time, was allied to Germany, so Germany declared war on the U.S.
1. If anything, Germany would not have wanted Japan to attack the United States; Germany wanted Japan to attack the SOVIET UNION (Russia); to relieve pressure on the German Army's Russian Front. 2. By all accounts, Germany was taken by surprise by the Japanese attack on the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. 3. Japan had it's own plans for the Pacific and Asia. Germany had it's own plans for Europe. If they both could "link-up" via the Suez Canal (Japan was moving towards India, Germany was fighting for control of the N. Africa); then other plans for world conquest could have been drawn up.
Because of Pearl Harbor the United States declared war on Japan. Meanwhile Germany was at war with the USSR, and they wanted Japan to attack the USSR from the east. To get Japan to attack the USSR, Germany declared war on the United States in a good faith gesture towards Japan. Prior to this there was a war in Europe and Eastern Asia with the only connecting point being that Italy, Germany, and Japan were allies. Now the U.S. being right in the middle of these two wars became the connecting point.
Japan did not attack Germany. Japan had an alliance with Germany and Italy. Japan fought the USA (after Pearl Harbour), Britain and her commonwealth (which included Australia).

no
Germany did NOT want to fight the US. The US needed a cause (reason) to declare war on Germany. Germany was NOT going to enrage the US. The ONLY reason Germany declared war on the US on December 11, 1941 was because Germany was hoping that Japan would reciprocate the favor and attack the USSR (Russia). Germany helps Japan; Japan helps Germany...TRIPARTITE PACT.
They never did. The attack was unannounced.
Germany didn't really attack US, US entered war because of Japan, and when the allies of US were attacked then US joined. The US was fighting 2 wars, 1. Japan 2. Germany

It brought the Americans into the war against the Axis (Germany, Italy and Japan).
The Attack on Pearl Harbor started WWII for the Americans but it was already going in Europe for several years. After the attack the Unites States declared war on Japan and Germany bringing the U.S. into the war.
